A Continual Farewell
A Continual Farewell
By Lindsay Reade
A Continual Farewell tells the story of the relationship between Factory Records’ Tony Wilson and his first wife, Lindsay Reade, in full colour through their personal and intimate letters, postcards and numerous family photos and snapshots.
They begin with love at first sight in 1976 and are married within a year. From a music show entitled So It Goes to the formation of Factory and the Haçienda, across domestic infidelities, separation, stalled reconciliations and an unceremonious firing.
After all that, when one would doubt any recovery was possible, the letters describe a renewed but now illicit love affair of former marriage partners. And beyond that, to a lasting friendship.
"Epistolary insight into love and Factory Records. Reade's commentary gives fascinating context, to both a bittersweet romance and to Factory's goofy machismo" MOJO 4****
"The unique vantage point here tells his story with a rare intimacy" Classic Pop
“A unique insight into the workings of the pioneering independent record label.” Manchester Evening News
"A book very much worth reading. It presents a story we think we know so well in a brand-new light." Moonbuilding
