Ranking Roger

Ranking Roger (Roger Charlery) was sixteen when he joined The Beat, the seminal Eighties band that went on to achieve worldwide success and a string of hits over three albums. He later formed General Public with Dave Wakeling. A reformed The Beat, led by Roger, released Bounce in 2016 – the first new album in 30 years – and Public Confidential in 2019. Until taken off the road by illness, Roger was touring throughout the world. He died in March 2019, just as his autobiography - I Just Can't Stop It - was being finalised.
