Teenage Kicks Showcased For Award

The People's Book Prize

Omnibus Press are delighted to announce that Michael Bradley's Teenage Kicks has been showcased by The People’s Book Prize, a unique literary competition that is judged by the nation and open to all UK publishing companies.

About The Book...

In the summer of 1974, Michael Bradley joined his school friend's band in Derry, Northern Ireland. At the time, they had two guitarists and no singer. Four years later, with Bradley providing the driving bass rhythm, The Undertones released 'Teenage Kicks' and were propelled to fame. The fascinating story behind the song, the band and the man are told in Teenage Kicks - My Life As An Undertone

With a punk rock attitude that produced John Peel's favourite record, and one of the most enduring rock songs ever, The Undertones went on to make some poor decisions, great albums, all while having a fantastic time. Breaking up in 1983, Michael became a bicycle courier in Soho, before 1999's reformation brought him back to play bass with the band once again.

The story is bitter-sweet, heart-warming and occasionally droll, featuring unlikely success, petty feuds and playful mischief during five years of growing up in the music industry. Always intriguing and told in Bradley's unique style, Teenage Kicks - My Life As An Undertone is a must-read for any fan of this legendary band.
